RIP Don Cornelius

Reports are in that "Soul Train" creator and longtime emcee Don Cornelius has died, apparently of suicide, at age 75. DC was an inspiration to me and his influence on black music, culture and television will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

About "Get on Down" and "Soul on the Air"

Although "Get on Down with the Stepfather of Soul!" was conceived as a rare soul blog, it has evolved into being the Web's best source for '60s and '70s soul radio broadcasts, known as airchecks, thanks to the "Soul on the Air" series.
