I know that usually I post gospel stuff on Sunday, but today, when I'm feeling sick, tired and "sick and tired," this magnificent gospel blues fits like a glove. I'll be back to my usual writing and cheer tomorrow, but for today this song says plenty.

The Rediscovery of Sir Lattimore Brown!

One of the greatest things to come out of this blog was the rediscovery of '60s Southern soul man "Sir" Lattimore Brown, who had been considered dead for at least twenty years. The story of how this came to pass, and Lattimore's amazing story, is chronicled by Red Kelly at The B-Side. Follow the story here.

UPDATE (4/3/11):
On March 25, 2011, Lattimore was struck and killed by a motor vehicle as he crossed the street near his home in Pensacola. Though the shock of this news is fresh, I am so thankful that Lattimore was able to spend his last days in relative comfort and with people around him who loved him and cared about him. "It ain't nothing but God!" was the catchphrase of the story of his rediscovery. Now he's home with the God that brought him through so many things. May he rest in peace. GET ON DOWN TRIBUTE PODCAST
